Hi this is my first time posting! Prior to my dad moving in with us in July 2020 he shopped as an activity. Due to his dementia he had no idea he was buying unnecessarily. Thus he was hoarding and racking up 5K in credit card bills!! It has taken us months to pay off the credit cards. He goes out several times a week with a woman i hired to help with him as we work full time outside the house. I leave money mainly for lunch. His favorite store is the dollar store so he goes there too. Everything he buys is pretty much no needed but he doesn't get it. He has bought me a dozen stuffed animals this past month. He's got 8 different kinds of peanuts. I'm thinking of setting up a donation box in my basement so instead of stressing i put the extra items in the box. My problem is he wants more money. He's got money but the point is he doesn't NEED anything and we only have so much space. Any suggestions??
